Johnson survives tire debacle at Indianapolis (AP)

A crewman for Michael Waltrip returns to the garage area with tires during the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard auto race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Sunday, July 27, 2008. Teams had problems with excessive wear on the tires.

It's one of the biggest events of the year at a venue intended to help NASCAR showcase its racing.
